About Us
Our Market
The Barn Artisan Market was established in January 2020 (originally as the Whole Earth Market), and focuses on local vendors with handcrafted, created, and made in Alberta products. We host one Market each month, usually on the fourth Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm. We also host two night markets during the summer. We have two floors, featuring 30+ local vendors, and we feature a brand-new line-up of vendors each and every month!
Admission is always free for visitors, and there's free parking as well!
What you'll find here is a fun, inviting community of artisans, creators, crafters, makers and more!
Applications & Pricing
Applications are available from the first to the tenth of each month for the market(s) two months out. Example: September Market applications will be available as of July 1. Applications close on the 10th of each month, and all applicants will be notified as to whether or not they are accepted. The exception is our Christmas Market, which open for applications on September 1st, and closes on the 10th, as it is the fifth Sunday in November.
Our fee is $80 per space (night markets are $90), which provides you with a 6’ or 8’ table (8’ tables first come, first served at time of registration, due to a limited number), as well as paid advertising on our website and Social Media accounts, local craft and event websites, and on-street signage before and during the Market.
Our focus is local vendors, with preference to unique, hand-crafted and made in Alberta products. We do not accept MLM, Direct Sales, drop-ship, or third-party sellers. Our Market is curated, and we do our best each month to ensure a good fit and balance of vendors.

Our Venue
Our Venue
The Barn Artisan Market gets part of its name from our historic location, the Shawnessy Barn, which is located at 224 Shawmeadows Rd SW in Calgary. The Barn, as it is affectionately known, is the last Vernacular-style barn within Calgary city limits that is still useable. Originally built in 1915 by local homesteader, John McInnes, it still sits on its original location! You can read more about it here.
The Barn is a perfect venue for our Market, and we love it! It lends a certain rustic charm to every event held within its walls.
In the summer months we love to open the big barn doors and welcome our visitors! Make sure to stop in and say hi, no matter what the season!

The Barn After Dark
Come join us for a fun-filled evening supporting local!
Come "Sip & Shop" with us on Friday, June 12th for our first of two night markets at the historic Shawnessy Barn! We'll have 34 local vendors over two floors featuring hand-crafted, created, and made in Alberta products, as well as live music, food trucks, and a bar hosted by the Shawnessy Community Association.
Join us for a great night out while supporting local! Admission is always free. You won't want to miss it!
